Grade 12 · British Columbia
I’m Darren.
A student who enjoys learning, building and turning ideas into models.
I’m a Grade 12 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary, based in Burnaby, British Columbia. I use Fusion and AutoCAD to explore how dimensions, materials and connections shape the way a design works.
My mom runs The Silver Stone Arts Co. Ltd. Her job drawings give me a way to connect CAD with the math and physics I learn at school. I want to understand how stone weight, cutouts and supports affect a design, and learn what needs checking before installation.

Stonework projects
View all 14 projects →Each project starts with supplied drawings. The pages record readable dimensions, estimate stone quantities and compare support examples. Missing measurements are listed with the work.
Kitchen surfaces and related panels
Measurements, material quantities and support scenarios.
A waterfall island and its connections
How a visible joint differs from a structural load path.
Counters, panels and surrounds
Different shapes need different support questions.
Explore a model
The Stone Lab lets you change dimensions, thickness and material density, then follow the calculation from volume to mass and weight. Room Preview places the same design in a schematic kitchen.
A little about me
I’m drawn to engineering because I enjoy understanding how things work and improving a design through making and testing. Alongside CAD, my interests include rugby, volunteering and music production. I also work on social media and research with SafeguardSenior.
